SSM Health Saint Louis University is seeking a fellowship-trained Upper Extremity/Hand Surgeon to join our growing Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. This is an outstanding opportunity to be part of a collaborative academic environment focused on exceptional patient care, education, and research.
Join a dynamic academic team at the SLUCare Academic Pavilion and build a high-volume hand and upper extremity practice within a Level I Trauma Center, supported by a strong referral network and advanced technology.
We are looking for a motivated surgeon who is passionate about working in a university-based setting alongside a team of experienced Hand Surgeons. This role offers a balanced mix of clinical practice and academic engagement, with flexibility to expand research efforts based on individual interests.
Practice Details:
- Academic orthopedic surgery group within Saint Louis University School of Medicine
- 90% Clinical / 10% Academic Role with opportunity to grow research involvement
- Practice in a Level I Trauma Center
- Access to satellite outpatient clinics and Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC)
- Dedicated APP support focused on hand surgery
- Advanced technology and strong referral base

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care in hand and upper extremity surgery within a Level I Trauma Center
- Perform hand and upper extremity surgical procedures
- Participate in outpatient clinics and Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC)
- Engage in teaching, mentoring, and academic activities with medical students and residents
- Participate in research and scholarly activities (optional expansion available)
- Share in hand surgery call coverage
Qualifications:
- MD or DO required
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery
- Completion of Hand/Upper Extremity Fellowship
- Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Missouri
