As a Patient Care Supervisor (RN) you will provide intentional, decisive, and collaborative leadership in managing the day-to-day clinical operations at the Advanced Treatment Center. This is a unique nurse leader position with the opportunity to work directly with the blood and bone marrow transplant (BMT) program and the broader cancer care service line within M Health Fairview. This leader oversees registered nurses who work within the BMT infusion center, BMT clinic, and a specimen collection lab. They will be apart of the Advanced Treatment Center leadership team, reporting to the Director of Clinical Operations.
Patient Care Supervisor (RN) Overview
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provides daily workflow direction to site staff to ensure providers have adequate staffing assistance to accommodate clinic efficiency while also achieving site objectives.
- Directly supervises registered/licensed nursing staff and other patient care staff (CMA, MA, LPN, Therapists, etc.).
- Responsible for the hiring, performance management, pay decisions, and overall staffing strategies for the clinic.
- Leads and/or participates in project/team improvement initiatives.
- Supervises training of staff upon hire and provides ongoing development and coaching.
- Ensures that staff training complies with OSHA, Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements.
- Advises and acts as a change agent with regard to changes in the medical community to ensure best practices.
- Responsible for clinical policy/procedure development and implementation in partnership with clinic leadership.
- Provides direction and assists with care of patients in urgent and emergent situations.
- Assists with the development and implementation of required training, as well as enforcement of policies, procedures, and best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Minnesota RN License.
- BLS Certification.
- BS or BA in Nursing or healthcare related field.
- Demonstrated process improvement experience.
- 3-5 years of nursing experience in an ambulatory or inpatient care setting.
- Minimum of two years of supervisory or nursing leadership experience in a clinical setting.
- Proven leadership, coaching, team-building, and performance management skills.
- Applicable certification (OCN, BMTCN, CRNI, etc).
