Surgery Center at Saint Francis is seeking an experienced FT Pre-Op PACU RN to join our team. Surgery Center at Saint Francis is a fast paced ASC environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families. Our center specializes in the surgical procedures: gastroenterology, general surgery, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, otolaryngology (ENT), pain management, plastic & reconstructive, podiatry and urology
Assess, instruct and prepare patients prior to surgery
Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure
Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about procedure
Assess patients' post-operative condition
Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria
Log and chart all findings in patient files
Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician
Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies

Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in TN
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Must have at least 1-3 years' previous experience in Pre-OP and/or post-operative experience
Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
Must have current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification is ideal
Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians.
