Summary:
Responsible for the overall implementation, administration, operation and financial management of the Destination Centers of Excellence (DCOEs) partnering with the administrative director of the practices and service lines they reside using RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed) matrix.   This includes planning/practice development, human resources, financial management, compliance oversight, and internal/external relationships.  Partners with Research Institute to facilitate infrastructure and throughput of clinical research. 
 
Responsibilities:
Leaderships
- Adds value as a key member of management serves as the expert in understanding the business, financials, industry, customers and strategy for DCOEs.
- Supervises employees, provides direction, coaches, and trains and develops, and manages performance to company goals and expectations.
- Interacts effectively with the hospital executive and administrative team leading the DCOE steering committee.
Operations Management
- Prepares, manages, and adheres to department budget to maintain expenditure controls for departments with direct reporting and partners with leaders of other hospital departments in managing, preparing and adhering to department budgets for services provided throughout the assigned region. Oversees service coordination and implementation, associated facility, human resource, financial management, Provides vision, development, direction and conflict resolution for services.
- Compliance oversight and partnership relations in matrixed organizational structure following RACI matrix.
- Ensures attainment of all annual goals and objectives for the DCOEs.
- Evaluates the assigned DCOE current financial performance and recommends and partners with hospital VPs and department leaders to adjusts in operations/activities to affect the necessary changes to attain the desired financial results.
- Maintains effective medical staff relationships with regional Medical Director to ensure that quality patient care is available and rendered for patients.
- Performs safety, employee, and patient rounds
- Oversees and ensures functional compliance with applicable law, regulatory agencies [including JCAHO] and other governing bodies for the assigned region in collaboration with hospital compliance and regulatory team. Pursues and maintains focused accreditation/certification, when applicable.
- Provides support and feedback regarding managed care issues, billing, coding, fee schedules, for DCOE to optimize reimbursement partners with ambulatory practices and services on implementation and monitoring of practice management and service line guidelines, coding and billing audits, clinical documentation reviews and patient satisfaction surveys.
- Partners with hospital quality services and department quality leaders to ensures quality and process improvement initiatives across DCOE
- Other duties as required.
 
Strategy Deployment and Business Development
- Partners with the Chief Strategy Officer or his/her designees with respect to business development activities around the DCOEs
- Partners with the Medical Director to in the formulation and execution of the DCOE's strategy for expansion
- Assists the medical staff and administrative leadership, as requested, in negotiating contracts with employed and independent contractor physicians
- Provides vision, development, direction and conflict resolution for assigned DCOEs.
Community Relations and Philanthropy
- Provides assistance and support for all marketing, fund-raising, and community education/relations activities related to the DCOEs
- Actively participates in community/regional boards and committees.

Technical Expertise
1. Ability to bridge varying constituencies to ensure optimal service and results.
2. Must have excellent communication sills - verbal and written.
3. Demonstrated ability to work on several projects in progress simultaneously.
4. Experience in healthcare management including revenue cycle, financials, and patient care operations is required.
5. Experience in clinical programs is required.
6. Experience in performance improvement and quality strategies [Lean Six Sigma] is preferred.
7. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
8. Experience in healthcare is preferred.
9. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Epic software is required/preferred.
Education and Experience
1. Master's degree in business or healthcare administration required.
2. Working knowledge of financial principles, strong analytical and organizational skills, and excellent leadership ability required.
3. A solid understanding of and comfort with clinical programs is necessary.
4. Team building abilities and personnel management skills are essential.
5. Years of relevant experience: 7 to 10 years is preferred.
6. Years of experience supervising: 5 to 7 years is preferred.
