Arnot Health, headquartered in Elmira, NY, has exclusively retained AMN Leadership Solutions to lead a national search for a Vice President, Nursing and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).

Arnot Health is an integrated health system and is comprised of three member hospitals: Arnot Ogden Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Elmira, NY and Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital in Bath, New York. Arnot Health provides diagnostic, ambulatory, secondary and tertiary acute care, as well as substance abuse, psychiatric, rehabilitative, and wellness services to meet the needs of residents in Chemung, Steuben, and Schuyler Counties in the Southern Tier of New York, and Bradford and Tioga Counties in the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania.

The three-hospital regional healthcare system, an independent, not-for-profit organization has   426 acute care beds and more than 200 skilled nursing/long-term care beds. Arnot Health has an employed medical group: Arnot Medical Services (AMS), a multi-specialty physician group with more than 225 physicians and advanced practitioners. Arnot Health also has a teaching affiliation with the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) and serves as a teaching site for more than 200 medical students, residents and fellows.

The Chief Nursing Officer reports to the SVP, Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for nursing practice and nursing care throughout Arnot Health, and partners with the Senior Executive team to set strategy and developing meaningful objectives for the system. The CNO will exercise leadership and management responsibility over all functions within nursing services, ensuring effective and efficient services that are designed to meet the needs of patients, physicians, the public and staff.

The selected CNO will possess the following:

• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a professional nurse in New York State.
• A master’s degree in nursing; doctoral degree is preferred.
• Current Nurse Executive or Nurse Executive Advanced with CNAA certification required. (If not currently certified, must obtain within 2 years of hire.)
• Seven to ten years of demonstrated successful administrative, management, and leadership experience in a hospital environment of similar size and complexity. Ideal experience would be as a CNO or ACNO within a complex community teaching hospital.

Elmira, NY is located in the upstate Finger Lakes region of New York State. The Finger Lakes Wine Country is lauded for its breathtaking vistas and award-winning wines, microbreweries and unique restaurants. The area is also well known for its ties to military history and its most famous resident was American Author Mark Twain. Excellent educational opportunities are available at both public and private school venues. Housing is affordable and real estate taxes are reasonable.
