The Allegheny Health Network (AHN), Cardiac Surgery Division is recruiting a Director of Thoracic Surgery to join our team serving Forbes Hospital in Monroeville. This is a unique opportunity to join the award winning AHN Cardiothoracic Surgical team in a leadership position at our rapidly growing Forbes Campus.
 

The Cardiovascular Institute at Forbes Hospital includes a comprehensive panel of physicians. The group has full-time support of both advanced practice providers and Cardiovascular Critical Care. The practice is closely interconnected with the practice at Allegheny General Hospital, including joint training of AHN cardiovascular and thoracic surgery residents, combined conferences, cross coverage and close collaboration on complex cases.

Job Duties

• Excellence in the entire spectrum of minimally invasive thoracic surgery (VATS or robotic), including lung surgery, benign and malignant esophageal surgery, and mediastinal surgery. Chest wall reconstruction including treatment of congenital chest wall anomalies a plus.
• Develop a rapidly growing thoracic program and partner with colleagues at neighboring hospitals.
   

Job Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience and well versed in all facets of thoracic surgery
• MD or DO degree and completed ACGME-accredited thoracic surgery residency
• Must have demonstrated examples of exceptional communication skills, teamwork, program development, leadership, and mentorship.  
• Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Pennsylvania License
