The Zablocki VA Medical Center is recruiting for a Physician/Program Manager (General Internal Medicine or Family Practice) to oversee the primary care provider teams at the Northeast Wisconsin Ambulatory Clinics (NEWAC), which includes the Clinical-based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in Appleton, Cleveland, and Green Bay, Wisconsin. The incumbent will serve as the Physician/Program Manager in Primary Care for NEWAC with a duty station in either Appleton or Green Bay, WI. The incumbent will be responsible for the direct supervision of the primary care physicians in NEWAC, along with the clinical oversight of the Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants at each site. Supervisory oversight of the primary care providers will also include the oversight of two Lead Nurse Practitioners, who will directly report to the incumbent. The incumbent will also work closely with the other primary care leadership members and the NEWAC (Northeast Wisconsin VA Ambulatory Clinics) leadership team to develop best practices and processes for the provision of primary care services for NEWAC patients. Candidates with a proven track record in leadership, success in managing clinical outcomes, and a high interest in health care administration are encouraged to apply. Prior supervisory experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. VA or other federal healthcare supervisory experience is preferred. Prior medical home panel management experience in the private sector or PACT experience in the VA is preferred. Our community-based outpatient clinics offer a full spectrum of Primary Care, Women's Health, Mental Health, Podiatry, Eye Care, and some medical/surgical subspecialty care. These services are in addition to the full spectrum of comprehensive health care at the main facility in Milwaukee, WI. The incumbent will serve as an effective leader and Program Manager to oversee the primary care provider teams at our Clinical-based Outpatient Clinics(CBOCs). The Physician/Program Manager will be responsible for oversight with duties to include supervising physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare providers as deemed necessary. The incumbent may participate in meetings with the Zablocki VA Medical Center leadership in Milwaukee, WI. Ability to travel within VISN12 and, on occasion, nationally is required.
