JOB SUMMARY This position reports up to the Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) Central Divisional Director of Clinical Practice and works closely with the Chief Nursing Officer, associated Vice President of Nursing as well as clinical leaders and Nursing Professional Development at BSWH Temple Memorial. This role influences and evaluates current and future clinical initiatives impacting patient safety, patient outcomes, nursing practice and organizational objectives as a member, leader or executive sponsor of BSWH Temple Memorial, Regional, Divisional, or System clinical councils. In addition, this position serves as an advocate for standardized evidence based care across the organization through policy, order set and other processes and provides counsel and oversight regarding the nursing scope of practice and BSWH nursing peer review.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE 25% of Time - Initiate, promote and advocate for standardized, evidence based clinical initiatives to enhance patient safety, best practices and compliance with regulatory/legal requirements.
5% of Time - Collaborate with BSWH colleagues at Temple Memorial and Central Division to serve as a consultant regarding nursing scope of practice and provide oversight for the BSWH nursing peer review process.
10% of Time - Lead, coordinate and facilitate the implementation of clinical initiatives. Promote dissemination of complete, consistent and timely communication to support patient centered outcomes in support of organizational objectives.
10% of Time - Coach, counsel and mentor future nursing leaders to grow and maintain a highly professional nursing workforce capable of delivering competent and compassionate care to meet patient needs and expectations as well as organizational objectives.
25% of Time - Collaborate with Director of Clinical Practice along with BSWH Temple Memorial and Ambulatory executives and clinical leaders across the organization to evaluate, guide, promote and advocate for clinical initiatives impacting quality and organizational care improvement efforts. 25% of Time - Lead development and implementation of a shared decision making structure and support the work through clinical councils to operationalize quality improvement initiatives within thorough analysis resulting in feasible workflow and communication in the current environment of care.
