Outpatient Cardiology Services at Anschutz campus is an ambulatory department that treats children and adolescents for any level of cardiac illness. The department supports Cardiology and 17 cardiac subspecialties and experiences more than 22,000 patient visits per year. We treat patients across the entire lifespan and some subspecialty areas include: Maternal/Fetal care, congenital heart disease, adult congenital heart disease, heart transplant, cardiomyopathy, pulmonary hypertension and single ventricle patients. We are a unique, yet impressive team comprised of bachelor’s prepared nurses, certified medical assistants, exercise specialists, exercise physiologists and other dynamic multidisciplinary roles. The staff in Cardiology Services are proud to provide safe quality of care to our patients. The outpatient Pediatric Cardiology Clinic at Children’s Hospital Colorado is usually a patient’s first stop at the Heart Institute after a referral from a primary care doctor. Kids with known or suspected heart disease are seen by one of our board-certified pediatric cardiologists and other esteemed clinical team members who will meet with the patient and family to assess the child’s cardiac condition. Our Cardiology Services Clinical team receive extensive training and education in all Cardiology specialties promoting communication, teamwork, and critical thinking. We promote continued education and encourage staff to pursue specialty certifications. The Clinical Manager is responsible for directing and managing the daily operations of a direct patient care department to ensure policies, procedures, and guidelines are being followed; providing clinical expertise, leading department team members in providing developmentally appropriate care and evaluating outcomes; and ensuring compliance with quality and safety initiatives and practices. The Clinical Manager ensures the accomplishment of organizational goals and objectives to improve healthcare performance and patient experience of care in a cost-effective manner. The Clinical Manager is a partner with others in the healthcare leadership team to enhance clinical practice by coaching for performance and promotion of professional growth. Finally, the Clinical Manager provides leadership in managing department team members and patient/family experiences.
EDUCATION – Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Master’s in health related field required.
EXPERIENCE - Five years of clinical experience, to include two years at the type and level of an Associate Clinical Manager. Pediatric cardiac experience strongly preferred.
LICENCURES/CERTIFICATION(S) – Registered Nurse (RN) License. BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire. American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Certificate; and Magnet recognized Certificate
