DMC University Laboratories (DMCUL) is a regional, integrated laboratory system providing services to the eight hospitals of Detroit Medical Center. It is comprised of core and specialty laboratories, two rapid response laboratories, Centralized Stat Lab, and Centralized Blood Bank Lab, and full service outreach infrastructure which includes patient service centers, remote ambulatory laboratories, marketing staff, courier system and billing department.
DMC University Laboratories is looking for dedicated and experienced Medical Technologists to join our growing team. As a Medical Technologist, your task and responsibilities will be: ? To perform quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests on patient specimens according to standard laboratory formulas and procedures, under general supervision.
To analyze test results and prepare samples for testing.
To calculate test findings and maintain records.
To prepare and determine the validity of solutions, reagents, media stains, and various materials in the testing process.
To process and test all types of laboratory specimens; review and report lab results; perform operational duties, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment; act as a resource to other laboratory personnel.
Bachelor's Degree from an approved college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology, or equivalent such as military training as defined by 42 CFR 493.1489, or have qualified at the Medical Technologist level by achieving a satisfactory grade on an HHS examination prior to 2/28/92 42 CFR 493.1491. The above meets the required criteria as defined by CLIA regulations for High Complexity testing (42 CFR 493.1489 and 42 CFR 493.1491).
Required: Registered or registry eligible in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT or CSMLS within 12 months of hire). Equivalency evaluation by ECE, NACES, or AICE for non-US trained personnel must be completed within 30 days of hire. Licensure, as required by State.
