The Director of Nursing- for East Alabama Ambulatory Surgery Center is accountable for the implementation of the mission, vision, and values of East Alabama Ambulatory Surgery Center. This is a new freestanding ASC, a partnership between local community physicians and EAMC, that will open in early 2021 on the campus of Auburn University. The DON works with the ASC Administrator and plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the operational, fiscal and personnel activities to ensure the provision of high-quality patient care in ambulatory surgery center setting. The DON contributes to the strategic planning process and strives for the attainment of organizational goals. This position is responsible for all clinical areas and has full-time management responsibility of the clinical staff. The DON works in conjunction with the administrator to ensure that the center operates within budget objectives. The DON advocates for available resources to promote efficient, effective, safe, and compassionate patient care. The DON acts as a resource for physicians, staff and patients. The DON is accountable for staff development and for maintaining a professional work environment. Direct reports include nurse supervisors in the; Operating Room, Pre-op, Recovery and Procedure rooms. The DON will report directly to the ASC Administrator.
5 years operating room or pre-op and recovery management experience
Demonstrated leadership ability; Experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center is preferred; Master’s in nursing degree is preferred; Management experience is required.
RN License, current ACLS upon hire
