Members of the MemorialCare Epic job family, work side by side our end users to install the Epic software, help lead and manage workflow/software changes, and ultimately transform the way that MemorialCare provides healthcare. MemorialCare's Epic Team develops creative strategies to achieve common end goals while collaborating with our end users. The role played by Epic Pharmacists Architect require both a background of clinical and software knowledge.
The Epic Pharmacist Architect is responsible for providing end users support in Willow and potentially Beacon and/or Ambulatory modules of the Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR). They specialize in the medication process, from ordering to administration, and are responsible for effective process design, development, and implementation of the EMR and Clinical Decision Support. With their pharmaceutical and application knowledge, they support pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other clinicians as the resource for requests related to EMR and pharmacy system changes and additions.
The Epic Pharmacist Architect drives collaboration across MemorialCare to ensure that Epic and its integrations are designed for interoperability, per defined policies, as well as industry best practices. They positively influence change for end users that maximizes the value of the system. The Epic Pharmacist Architect is responsible for developing and implementing an enterprise data strategy that aligns information assets with business and technology strategy. It is essential for this individual to be highly collaborative as they need to influence senior business leaders, functional leadership, as well as project and application managers.
Minimum 5 years’ Epic application experience or equivalent combined hands on Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and pharmacy experience required
Progressive project management experience and demonstrated effective communication working independently as well as in a team situation meeting aggressive deadlines and established goals
Experience leading projects requiring an end-to-end Pharmacy workflow perspective, a high-level overall understanding of the application, and considerable knowledge of Epic Willow and potentially Beacon and/or Ambulatory end user processes, effectively dedicating time across more than one project, and meeting established deadlines
Demonstrated use of relevant “out of the box thinking” in conjunction with organization wide standardization
Experience working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and managing multiple priorities
Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize system tools to meet functionality needs of users including proficiency with information systems technology such as Microsoft Office Products required
Proven ability in workflow and data analysis and design techniques, including needs assessment, specification development, quantitative methods, planning and gap analysis
Past success leading meetings between business stakeholders, technical resources, and third parties for business requirements and technical solutions
Experienced working with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team, and interacting with all levels of the organization
Experienced with regulatory and/or accreditation guidelines & workflow design to meet guidelines
Demonstrated knowledge of clinical workflows
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required
Pharmacist license required, Pharm. D. preferred
Deep knowledge of Epic Willow is required; Epic proficiency or certification preferred
