JOB TITLE:Staff Registered Nurse LOCATION: Geisinger South Wilkes Barre DEPARTMENT:Pain Management WORK SCHEDULE: Days WORK TYPE: Part time .5 FTE 40 hours biweekly payperiod
JOB SUMMARY: Provides nursing care to patients in the GSWB Interventional Pain Center. Performs patient assessment, provides patient care in procedure room including patients with IV conscious sedation. Provides direct patient care in the recovery area including patient/family teaching. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range in their assigned clinical area.
Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Geisinger Health System.
Directly accountable to the Clinic Nurse Supervisor.

Demonstrates basic computer skills.
Demonstrates flexibility, tact and ability to perform both independently as well as a team member in a busy and sometimes stressful environment.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Graduate from an approved School of Nursing required. Registered nurse currently licensed in Pennsylvania, or eligible to be licensed, required.
ACLS Certification required.
Minimum six months on-the-job training required.
Previous O.R. or procedure room experience with sterile fields preferred.
Experience administering and caring for patients given conscious sedation preferred.
Experience with radiofrequency machine or assisting with stimulator implants preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Involves standing for long periods of time, sitting, assisting and sometimes lifting (or assisting co-workers to lift) patients, bending, squatting, lifting and carrying of supplies and small equipment items.
