Duke North 6300 is the surgical component of the oncology team. A 31 bed unit, 6300 provides post-surgical care for oncology patients in Urology, Gynecological Oncology, Ophthalmology, Ear, Nose, and Throat (also Head and neck), as well as plastic surgery. Surgical Oncology is a very busy step down unit. The patients housed on 6300 are often very acute, making it a perfect learning environment particularly for those preparing to enter critical care. 6300 Also provides care for occasional med-surg patients, (approximately 20%) so it offers a myriad of opportunities to learn and develop. We also have a very supportive, dynamic team that provides the clinical support and encouragement needed to learn the nuances of these specialty areas. Our work culture committee also works to provide interesting team building activities in the community to foster new friendships and trust.

Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
