The Regional Manager oversees operations and general management of multiple assigned practice locations. The Regional Manager oversees routine business and clinical functions through administrative and clinical staff including front desk, medical records, nursing, and ancillary services to ensure maximum utilization of resources and the efficient delivery of services and management of assigned practices. In addition, the Regional Manager is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors. Finally, they ensure that the assigned region is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.
Works collaboratively with and supports the Regional Director (RD) to ensure timely and efficient onboarding of acquired practices (both new and addition to staff), follows up on action items and communicates findings to appropriate team member
Tracks and evaluates on a regular basis scheduling, practice revenues, staff competencies and training. Performs annual staff evaluations.
Initiates processes/improvements based on initial site evaluation and follow up on action items in a timely manner, communicating with VP, RD and office manager (and physician) and other team members as needed.
Communicates and coordinates with HR: payroll and benefits, orientation of staff and delivery of employee handbook and policies. Oversees payroll in accordance with company policy. Follows disciplinary process in accordance with HR policy and procedures.
Schedules and uses staff appropriately across practice locations for optimal coverage whenever possible (vacations, sick etc.). Establishes monthly schedules for physicians and staff in collaboration with office supervisor.
Attends meetings as directed by RD and VP. Holds regular staff meetings in designated practices.
Identifies operating costs and operational capital budget needs in collaboration with providers and office managers. Complete ROI and justifications, submit to RD and VP. Review monthly budget and identify areas of cost saving.
Develops, plans, and budgets on a strategic, tactical and operational level for and with each practice.
Ensures quality measures are implemented and ongoing for assigned practices, track deficiencies and works collaboratively with Director of Quality to ensure compliance.
Analyzes financial impact of charges in clinical activities and forecasts actual revenue/expenditures versus approved budget.
Closely monitors A/R collections. Ensures practices follow all receivable and collection guidelines.
Bachelor s Degree in Business Administration or related field is required, with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration preferred. Appropriate experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
3-5 years of experience in group practice management of multiple locations.
Effective working knowledge of healthcare financial management, medical practice accounting, third party reimbursement issues, patient flow and facilities management.
General knowledge of Physician compensation models and contract terminology.
Critical thinking and analytical skills a must.
Proficiency in Excel required.
Completion of all required management training programs.
