The Director of Risk/Infection Control Nurse directs the process of establishing a comprehensive and integrated risk management program which meets regulatory standards for both the hospital and the PHP/IOP components. The Director of Risk strives to emphasize an organization - wide approach in regards to continually meeting and /or exceeding licensing and accreditation standards, in order to deliver quality care, safety and cost-effective treatment. This position assists in ensuring the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, programs and services consistent with the facility's goals and objectives, and actively participates in a leadership role by consulting with facility management in designing and providing total patient care and services. The Director of Risk is also responsible for coordinating the activities of the Infection Control Program, assuming direct responsibility for infection surveillance, reporting, providing technical support and education for the hospital staff.
