Henry Ford Palliative Medicine Service is seeking a physician for the role Senior Staff Physician in Palliative Medicine. This position includes patient care, teaching, scholarly work, and clinical leadership within the Palliative Medicine Program at Henry Ford Hospital.

The physician will:
Serve as an Attending Physician on the interdisciplinary inpatient Palliative Medicine Consultative Service at Henry Ford Hospital
Approximately 36 weeks on service annually
Monday – Friday; approximately 8:30AM – 5:30PM
Weekend call q5 with Saturday in-house coverage and Sunday phone coverage (often on-call with a fellow)
4 weeks’ vacation, 6 Official Holidays, 8 days CME (per HFMG policy)
See patients a ½ day per week in ambulatory Palliative Medicine clinic
Clinic often done in conjunction with a fellow or resident
1 hour new patient consultation, 30 minute follow-up visit
Supervise and train medical students, residents, and fellows (serving as core clinical faculty for our ACGME- accredited Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program with 2 fellows per year)
Participate in scholarly activities in education, quality improvement, and research
Based on interest and skills the physician may:
Assume the role of associate program director for the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship program
Serve as a member of the Henry Ford Ethics Committee
Become a facilitator for the innovative communication skills education program, CLEAR Conversations
Participate in the development/maintenance of hospital based protocols in pain, symptom management, advance directives, and other areas related to palliative medicine
Board certification in a primary specialty
Board-certification or Board-eligibility in Hospice and Palliative Medicine
