The Senior Project Manager acts independently to provide general systems consulting, systems analysis, and overall leadership related to the acquisition and use of computing systems in assigned business areas. Applies knowledge of business and applications to identify and select optimal system solutions. Manages all phases of projects. Accountable for the success of system implementations, repairs, process improvements, and overall benefits realization. Functions as a key point of user contact and customer service for Information Services and is accountable for user satisfaction. Develops departmental policies and procedures, and educates individuals in and outside department as it relates to information systems and services. Prepares analytical reports and makes recommendations to management. Ensures that the organization’s goals, philosophies, and objectives are optimally supported by information technology.
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for a multitude of projects and will vary depending on strategic initiatives: Ambulatory Implementations, ACO, DTE, Epic Optimization, Reporting, System Integrations, etc. and will manage a mix of medium ($500k+) to large ($1M+) projects and even some mega-sized projects
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
Manage all phases of multiple large and small projects to ensure achievement of objectives, timetables, budget, and overall success.
Consult management and staff on the appropriate and practical use of automation as it relates to existing and proposed systems, lead systems analysis selection efforts, and guide user support functions so as to acquire and use systems optimally.
Maintain continuously high levels of user contact, attend relevant meetings, actively participate in organizational activities, and function as a key contact and leader for Information Services to ensure communication, collaboration, and teamwork. Independently identify and resolve complex problems and issues that arise in and outside of the department.
Develop, train, and motivate IS staff, and develop and improve information management policies to ensure a highly competent, professional, and effective IS organization.
Undertake ad-hoc assignments as required to react quickly and positively to new or emergent situations.
Complies with all IS Policies, Procedures and Standards including: Project Management tools/methodologies, Network/Systems/Workstation Security, HIPAA Privacy and Security Regulations associated with Electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI).

Seven years’ (7) experience as a senior systems analyst, project manager or equivalent business experience.

Proven leadership, supervision, and motivational ability.
Highly analytical, creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
Superior and obvious communications skills, both verbal and written.
In-depth, broad, contemporary knowledge of multiple areas of business systems, PCs, collaborative computing tools, re-engineering and process improvement techniques, information management in healthcare, general information architectures, systems integration, laws, and regulations.
Knowledge of LEAN Management systems is plus.
Experience with Healthcare and/or Ambulatory workflows is a plus.
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, and/or licensed healthcare professional desirable.
