The Atlantic Region CBO is seeking a dynamic and talented Collection Support Assistant.
TheÂ CollectionÂ Support AssistantÂ is responsible to provide collection assistance to the Collection Specialists, Team Leads and Manager. Follow up and seek resolution of patient and third party accounts receivable balances which may include productivity daily goals of 40 to 45 accounts minimum.
Key Responsibilities include:
Opens and sorts mail received on a daily basis as outlined in department procedure and distributes all department mail on a daily basis
Completes third party follow up on outstanding insurance claims through contact with the payers.
Escalate problem accounts to management team of department for assistance and resolution.
Has a complete understanding of the SMS accounting system and is able to utilize all functions appropriately.
Properly documents the patient account of all steps taken to resolve the balance.
Scan when needed all required paperwork by retention policies.
Directs any problems with accounts or where additional intervention is needed to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
Executes job duties to achieve optimal productivity and efficiency. Uses available work time to complete all tasks with established frames and timelines.
