River Oaks Hospital, located in metropolitan New Orleans, Louisiana, is a private psychiatric facility for adults, adolescents and children. Since 1970, River Oaks has established a tradition of excellence in the treatment of acute psychiatric illness, dual diagnosis, alcohol and drug detoxification, trauma based disorders, compulsive behaviors, and eating disorders, River Oaks has provided quality treatment to service individuals suffering from mental illness, and/or addictive disorders. Situated on a 14 acre campus, services are available at all levels of care (inpatient, day or partial hospitalization, outpatient, and intensive outpatient).
River Oaks Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Admissions and Referral/ Intake Evening Supervisor.Â Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provides or coordinates initial assessment and counseling of scheduled or walk-in clients;
Responds to each person/family in a timely manner with appropriate clinical intervention and judgment. Provides immediate information and emotional support according to need and within departmental and River Oaks Hospital policy. Provides additional evaluation/consultation as deemed necessary (i.e. psychiatric assessment);
Directs smooth operational processes to alleviate anxieties in discussing treatment interventions, financial responsibility, etc. with clients;
Assists in the development of the departmentâ€™s program and services to maximize client satisfaction;
Provides supervision of counselors and technicians in an efficient manner within clinical and fiscal expectations. Assists with interviewing, training, education, re-direction and performance evaluations of staff as necessary, while being responsive to their expressed needs;
Coordinates scheduling of staff and responsible for maintaining coverage for the department;
Completes required reports in a timely manner ensuring accuracy;
Observes confidentiality and safeguards all patient and employee related information;
Willingly adapts to change and demonstrates a positive attitude and flexibility in scheduling and in the performance of duties assigned to this position;
Presents a positive, friendly and helpful attitude in daily interactions with patients, staff and visitors;
Attends all required in-services annually and directs staff with same.
