River Oaks Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented PHARMANCY TECHNICIAN.Â Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Non-clinical functions relating to delivery of pharmaceuticals to patient care areas, working under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. JOB DESCRIPTIONÂ Â Â
Completes clerical duties as requested, i.e., computer skills, answering the phone, etc.
Makes rounds to nursing units to pick up orders.
Prepares individual medication cassettes for verification by pharmacist.
Fill requisitions for floor stock indications for verification by pharmacist.
Prepare billing for input by data processing.
Prepare and update patient profiles on all hospitalized patients with information to include patient names, diagnosis, hospital number, age, sex, allergies, treating physician (psychiatrist and internist), date of admission and other pertinent information.
Prepare pass medications for verification by pharmacist.
Prepare prescriptions for verification by pharmacist.
Sign out controlled substances on proof of use sheets.
Completes records and documentation.
Performs work with minimal errors with regards to pharmaceutical responsibilities, i.e., errors in medication.
Correctly records patient information.
Observes and complies with hospital policy regarding patient rights.
Communicates with other department in the hospital appropriately.
Responds to phone calls accordingly.
Knowledgeable of the Quality Assurance plan and indicators of the department.
Assists clinical staff in charting as necessary.
Attends all department meetings.
Observes confidentiality and safeguards all patient and employee related information.
