The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is responsible for the day to day coordination and oversight of all aspects of the Nursing Department Under the direction of the chief nurse executive. Coordinate, develop and effective implementation of nursing performance improvement processes. Direct, supervise all critical functions of Infection control and staff development department.
Assist CNO in managing all aspects of nursing department operations on daily basis.
Actively participate in review of standards and ensuring policies /practices are incorporating standards. Provide coverage for nursing leadership positions or units as needed.
Serves as a resource person to patients, families, physicians and staff in interpretingÂ department policies, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
ADON demonstrates effective communication skills,Â problem solving, and conflict resolution in the management of the nursing department.
