Activity Therapy Manager Position Summary:
The Activity Therapy Manager is responsible for all programming, organizing, scheduling, budgeting, facilitating and directing all activities including assessments and treatment plans for the hospitalâ€™s inpatient and outpatient programs. All activities must be completed in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, Joint Commission, Federal and State standards, guidelines and regulations governing the Activity Therapy department.Â Activities must be designed to meet the interests, and therapeutic needs of the patients.
Key Responsibilities include:
Primary responsibility is to provide an interesting, creative and therapeutic program throughout the hospital and promote patient participation through regularly scheduled high quality activities, special events, exercise sessions, games, art and creativity opportunities, educational classes and other such activities.
Ensure activities and events meet the leisure, social, fitness activity level and individualized recreational needs of the patient.
Completing Activity Therapy assessments and treatment plans.
Assisting patients in developing an understanding of the benefits of health and fitness.
Assisting patients in improving social interactions.
Working with the treatment team to develop and implement therapeutic recreation programs.
Ensure that the department is staffed and activities are planned seven days a week.
Supervise department staff and interns including hiring, disciplining and evaluating staff performance.
