Parkview Health, a Top 15 U.S. Health System, serving northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio, is seeking an outstanding general surgeon (MD, DO) to contribute to the continued growth of the ACGME-accredited General Surgery Residency Program with 4 residents per year in vibrant Fort Wayne, Indiana. The General Surgery Residency Program Director will oversee the fully accredited six-year program that provides high-quality clinical experiences for residents, with many unique opportunities including extensive robotic surgery training, in-depth research participation, and advanced educational experiences.

The Program Director will be a board-certified general surgeon with a strong background in GME; and will play a vital role in shaping the future of our residency program in Fort Wayne, the region’s healthcare hub. The successful candidate will be a confident, visionary leader with the maturity, integrity, knowledge, and cultural sensitivity to inspire, develop, and recruit strong faculty and residents and advance collaborative relationships with community partners.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MD or DO is required.
- Board Certified in Surgery by the American Board of Surgery or hold credentials deemed equivalent to Certification by the ACGME’s General Surgery Residency Review Committee.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise and experience working with residents and medical students.
- Experience as teaching faculty in an ACGME accredited General Surgery Residency Program, and at least three (3) years of administrative and teaching experience in Graduate Medical Education.
- Have unrestricted credentials within Parkview Health and be licensed to practice medicine by the State of Indiana.
