Orthopedic Hand and Upper Extremity Surgeon
Full Time * Annapolis & Lanham, MD
Luminis Health Orthopedics is seeking a fellowship-trained, board-certified or board-eligible Orthopedic Hand and Upper Extremity Surgeon to a dynamic team in both in Anne Arundel and Prince George’s County, Maryland. This is a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive care for hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremity conditions in a collaborative, community-based, and academically connected healthcare system. You’ll treat a wide range of patients from all walks of life—from workers and athletes to aging adults and those with complex upper extremity injuries or disorders.
Responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing and managing a full spectrum of upper extremity musculoskeletal conditions, including traumatic injuries, degenerative disorders, and nerve compression syndromes
- Performing advanced surgical procedures of the hand, wrist, forearm, and elbow, including microsurgery, tendon and nerve repair, fracture fixation, and arthroscopy
- Providing non-surgical management and rehabilitation planning for patients with upper extremity disorders
- Participating in orthopedic call coverage
- Documenting all clinical activity accurately and thoroughly using the electronic health record (EHR)
- Engaging in quality improvement initiatives, team meetings, and continuing medical education
- Optional involvement in clinical teaching or research through academic affiliations

Requirements
Requirements include:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Orthopedic Surgery Residency
- Fellowship training in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery (Orthopedic or combined Plastic Surgery pathway)
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
- Active Maryland medical license or eligibility to obtain one
- Expertise in surgical and non-surgical management of hand and upper extremity conditions, including trauma, arthritis, and nerve compression
- Proficiency in microsurgical and reconstructive techniques
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
- Experience with community engagement and education is a plus
