A reputable medical center in southeastern Virginia has an opening for a Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant to provide locum coverage.

Opening Details:

• Schedule: 2 weeks on/2 weeks off
• Weekend rounding required
• Setting: 75% inpatient, 25% outpatient
• Patient Census: 5-10 per round
• Patient Population: 100% adult
• EMR: Epic
• Must be board-certified or board-eligible
• Paid travel & expenses

During your time off, visit a naval shipyard museum, explore scenic waterfront parks, and shop at local markets and boutiques.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• National Institutes of Health (NIH)
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Active unencumbered Physician Assistant Virginia state license
• Graduate from a fully accredited Physician Assistant program
• Two years of work experience as a Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant
• One year of EMR experience
• Board Certified

• A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
• Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
