The Eye MDs is an innovative comprehensive ophthalmology practice and market leader in eye care for the mid-Ohio Valley since 1992. We are in need of a new associate that is well trained and looking to join a productive practice.
Productivity
Our offices in Marietta, OH, and Parkersburg, WV, draw patients from a 70+ mile radius for comprehensive ophthalmologic care. The significant demand for both general and subspecialty ophthalmology services results in an impressive 18,900+ patient visits and 5,000+ eye surgeries annually. Our practice boasts exceptional efficiency, evidenced by an average of 3000 cataract surgeries yearly which are all done at our own ambulatory surgery center in Belpre, OH.
We currently have three comprehensive ophthalmologists; one is partially retired and no longer performing cataract surgery. We are looking for a comprehensive ophthalmologist or glaucoma specialist. The position is ideal for an ophthalmologist who is eager to perform a significant amount of cataract surgery from day one. We would prefer a resident that is graduating soon, or a currently practicing, board-certified, comprehensive ophthalmologist that has recently finished training. We have an immediate opening for this full-time opportunity.
Innovation
Continuous innovation sets us apart, as we have provided services unavailable at other regional practices or hospitals. We are the only regional ophthalmology group to offer Laser-assisted cataract surgery (LenSx) and Light Adjustable IOLs (RxSight). We also offer advanced technology IOLs including toric, multifocal, trifocal, and EDOF intraocular lenses as well as the Light Adjustable Lens. We offer All-laser LASIK and CO2 laser eyelid surgery. All of our surgery is done at our own ambulatory surgery center, The Physicians Outpatient Surgery Center, Ltd., which is Medicare and AAAHC certified. Our ASC has a LenSX femtosecond laser, Alcon Centurion phaco machines, and YAG, green diode and SLT lasers. And we do a significant amount of advanced technology lens surgery (torics, multifocals, and Light Adjustable IOLs) as well as MIGS with iStents.
Our offices and equipment are modern and aesthetically pleasing, with a NexTech EHR-based system and a well-trained staff including numerous COAs and COTs. There are no local glaucoma specialists, and we do more than 400 glaucoma laser procedures and over 4,000 glaucoma tests (visual fields and optic nerve imaging) per year. As there are only a few glaucoma specialists in the entire state of WV, we believe this could be a wonderful opportunity for glaucoma practice growth through referrals to a glaucoma subspecialist or a comprehensive ophthalmologist interested in glaucoma procedures.
Lifestyle
We value each partner's quality of life and have the autonomy to build flexible schedules. We offer five weeks of PTO to start (one designated for CME), and a week of sick/personal time, allowing associates to enjoy traveling the world and spending time with their families. Our call structure is shared by all, and we only cover our own patients. We do NOT take call at the local hospitals; thus, the call burden is minimal.
We also feel that vacation time is central to our success. One partner travels with a backpack to South America, Southeast Asia, and Europe and sails his sailboat in our local lake and charters in the Caribbean. The second partner uses that time to play gigs with his rock band across the region, and the third partner uses that time to go flying his plane, hiking, skiing, and fishing in Wild Wonderful West Virginia.
Marietta and Parkersburg are both historic cities that are about 15 miles apart. We have gorgeous rolling hills and two rivers, allowing for a variety of outdoor activities including hiking, cycling on our bike trails, and water sports. We also have many festivals, music venues and a local theater which hosts nationally recognized musical performers all year long. Financial Opportunity
