Snead Eye Group is seeking an experienced and driven Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ADC) team in Fort Myers. This position oversees all clinical operations, compliance, and patient care functions across our surgical centers, ensuring exceptional quality, safety, and staff engagement.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on nurse leader who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and has a strong foundation in ASC operations, AAAHC standards, and Risk Management.
Responsibilities:
Direct and coordinate all nursing and patient care activities in the surgery center
Maintain AAAHC and state regulatory compliance standards
Oversee infection control, safety, QAPI, and risk management initiatives
Partner with physicians and staff to promote optimal surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction
Supervise, mentor, and develop nursing and clinical staff
Lead committees and report quarterly quality and risk metrics to the Administrator
Oversee recruitment, orientation, and continuing education programs
Qualifications:
Current Florida RN license (Required)
ACLS certification (Required or obtained within 90 days)
Minimum 3 years management experience in healthcare
1–3 years experience in an ASC or ambulatory setting strongly preferred
Risk Management or Infection Control experience preferred
Strong communication, leadership, and quality improvement skills

Requirements

Active Florida RN license (required)
ACLS certification (required or must be obtained within 90 days)
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
3+ years of clinical management or leadership experience
1–3 years of Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) or outpatient surgery experience
Knowledge of AAAHC and AHCA standards, infection control, and risk management
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to motivate staff and maintain high standards of patient care
Proficient in EHR systems and compliance documentation
Must demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a high-volume surgical environment
