Marshfield Medical Center, the Marshfield Clinic Health System flagship hospital, cares for patients from throughout central, northern and western Wisconsin. Marshfield Medical Center offers primary, secondary, tertiary and Level II Trauma Center hospital services provided by Marshfield Clinic specialists. The facility hosts nearly 40 specialties including cancer, heart and orthopedics care, as well as a 24-bed Children's Hospital equipped with the latest technology and highly-trained hospitalists and nurses providing nearly 30 pediatric specialty services, including: child abuse-neglect, gastroenterology, pediatric intensive care, neonatology, and surgery. Access to a Level II Trauma Center, ensures 24-hour availability of anesthesiologists, dedicated medical equipment, operating room facilities, physician specialists, surgeons, and trauma nurses.
These positions will work within Marshfield Medical Center formerly St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, with variable shifts to include rotating weekends, holidays and call.
The Surgical Technologist is a skilled member of the allied healthcare team who provides clinical support and/or operating room assistance under the supervision of a licensed physician. The Surgical Technologist works with a wide variety of healthcare professionals to deliver direct patient care before, during, and after procedures or surgery. The Surgical Technologist provides a safe, efficient environment for the surgical patient and staff by working in accordance with Marshfield Clinic standards of practice and by adhering to Marshfield Clinic policies/procedures, universal precautions, and sterile technique.

Graduate of a surgical technologist program required
Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology courses must be completed within 1 year of hire unless independently obtained
Two years of healthcare experience
One year of experience as a Surgical Technologist
Must meet criteria for hospital and ambulatory surgery staff privileges and additional specialty or department-specific certifications (where applicable).
CPR Certification required upon hire
Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (formerly the Liaison Council of Certification) as a Surgical Technologist within one year of hire required for Surgical Technologists
