Suncoast Behavioral Health Center is a private, acute inpatient psychiatric facility designed to provide quality services in a supportive environment to children, adolescents and adults.
The Hospital is seeking a Contracted Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who will provide inpatient advanced practice nursing support through working with the treatment team and identifying patient treatment needs, medication assessments and adjustments, and utilization review support as needed.
Clinical Duties: The scope of practice of the Nurse Practitioner shall be evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients. In particular, the treatments offered consist of insight, cognitive and supportive psychotherapy, behavioral interventions, health teaching, case management, discharge planning, and the prescribing of medication. Prescribes medication and consistently utilizes the nursing process to provide quality patient care to hospital patients. Revises medication and nursing care plans as needed in conjunction with Program Director and treatment planning goals. Participates in treatment team meetings as directed by Medical Director. Monitors medications and dosages and adjusts as needed. Follows hospital nursing policies and procedures in prescribing medications and treatments.
Documentation: Documents medications and treatments in patient charts. Documents treatment plans as well as any changes to the treatment plan in the patient chart. Documents on patient progress notes and maintains up to date records as needed. Communicates any treatment related information as needed.
